Field Technician

The Driggs Design Group, PA is in search of an Engineering Field Technician to assist with construction observation and materials testing on a wide variety of engineering projects. Primary responsibilities include providing construction administration and materials testing on projects contracted by the Driggs Design Group, PA. Additional responsibilities may include assisting survey crews and performing CAD production functions. Job Description:

  • Assist with the materials testing related to soils, aggregate, concrete and asphalt materials.
  • Read and interpret engineering plans, detailed drawings and construction specifications.
  • Will need to be able to calculate quantities utilized on construction projects.
  • Perform CAD functions to prepare survey drawing, reports and exhibits.
  • Assist with servicing Driggs Design clients with construction staking, topographic survey and boundary survey work.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in surveying, construction management, CAD, drafting or related field, or High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum two years of related work experience within the civil engineering field. An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
